This two-day course is an introduction to the processes involved in fashion design. You will identify a target customer, gather inspiration, create a mood board / colour palette and get designing!
Niki Groom is an experienced fashion illustrator with 11 years’ industry experience, including five years as a senior designer at Monsoon. As an illustrator, she has worked with Vogue, Saatchi & Saatchi and Colette Dinnigan.

You will be provided with all basic drawing materials.
Please wear old clothes and bring a large collection of things that you love to help to inspire you. For example: magazine cuttings, photographs, bits of lace/ribbon, paint colour cards, CD covers, scraps of wool, print and pattern ideas from nice wrapping paper, photocopies from books, etc. Bring along any other special medium that you may wish to use; paint, bits and pieces for collage, coloured pencils, sequins, scraps of fabric, metallic paints, ink.
You will also need an A4 sketchbook at least A4 size.
Please bring your own lunch. Facilities for beverages will be available throughout the day.
