Salisbury Playhouse take on mentoring role

Key staff at Salisbury Playhouse, one of Britain's leading building-based theatres, have joined Bath Spa University’s Industry Mentors Programme. The wealth of knowledge the mentors bring to the programme will ensure students gain a valuable insight into the theatre world whilst planning their career direction within it.
It is anticipated that Salisbury Playhouse will begin mentoring third year students from September 2010 with applications open to students to apply for mentoring from July 2010. Ten staff attended the University’s free half day training session and currently the following staff have signed up to the programme:
- Company Stage Manager, Georgina Richards
- Artistic Director, Philip Wilson
- Participation Co-ordinator, Louise Dancy
- Development Director, Kirstie Mathieson
- Head of Marketing and Sales, Tim Croall
Talking about signing up to the programme Kirstie Mathieson, Development Director at Salisbury Playhouse says "Being involved in the mentoring programme will be good for my own personal development and is an opportunity I wish I had during University."
Stephanie Goodwin, project coordinator for the Industry Mentors Programme at Bath Spa University says "We are grateful and delighted that Salisbury Playhouse has chosen to sign up to our mentoring programme. Our students will benefit hugely from the expertise they will jointly bring and we can’t wait to start matching up our students to their new mentors."
