New Short Course - Science, Climate & Economics for a General Audience

28th April 2010

Science meets the Arts, as the Creative Writing experts in Bath Spa University's School for Humanities & Cultural Industries launch a new short course for professional experts, to be run in July 2010.

Over the four days of the course, 10 delegates will undertake the following activities:

  • Plan a 1,200 word piece for a general audience, write it, review it, and edit other people's work.
  • Participate in exercises that teach them how to tell a story, and how to make a telling argument.
  • Discuss each person's planned 1,200 word piece.
  • Participate in writing, presentation and editing sessions.
  • Engage in group discussions and give constructive feedback regarding each others' work.

The tutor, Jonathan Neale, is a senior lecturer in Non-Fiction Creative Writing at Bath Spa University and has published seven non-fiction books and four novels.  His background includes a degree in anthropology and a doctorate in social history.
