Knowledge Escalator Brochure Launched

Along with the other universities in the South West, Bath Spa University has been a participant in the Universities South West's Knowledge Escalator project. This has contributed to the establishment of a number of initiatives, which have benefited links with business, student enterprise and skills development.
A new e-brochure, 'Knowledge Escalator South West: accelerating knowledge transfer across the region' has been launched by Universities South West. The publication describes the achievements of the collaborative Knowledge Escalator SW project to date, illustrating the many ways in which it has helped to boost innovation, enterprise and growth in south west businesses and universities through mutually beneficial ‘knowledge exchange’ activity. Knowledge Escalator South West is now in its third year and is demonstrating real economic impact in the South West. The brochure sets out the aims and objectives of the programme, quantifies the achievements to date and illustrates its successes with real life case studies. Knowledge Escalator has helped over 130 companies in the south west of England in its first two years; creating new jobs, businesses and market opportunities along the way. There is a wealth of evidence to demonstrate the benefits to business of working with universities. From business mentoring of students, knowledge fellowship partnerships and proof of concept projects to student enterprise start-up awards, business plan competitions, enterprise champions and non executive director training. It also provides links to further information and business contact points for the 13 partner Universities in the region.
The project is supported by the European Regional Development Fund through the SW Competitiveness and Convergence Programmes, with matching support from the South West Regional Development Agency.
