For businesses and individuals, mentoring a student can represent a relatively low level / low cost introduction to working with a university. However, there is potential to benefit significantly from an ongoing relationship of this kind. Staff will develop coaching skills that can be applied in the workplace and for those undertaking our half-day training session for mentors, it could contribute to Investor in People activities for the organisation and professional CPD for the individual.
If you are interested in becoming a mentor for Bath Spa University, please contact Stephanie Winnard, Business Enterprise Coordinator on s.winnard@bathspa.ac.uk / 01225 876211.
The Industry Mentors Programme is funded by the Knowledge Escalator Project, which is part financed by the European Union’s ERDF Competitiveness and Employment Programme 2007-13 securing £1,833,000 of ERDF investment through the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA).
