Winner 2011 - ROMP

ROMP is a live music promotion business based in Bath, bringing student audiences to small venues around the country. In addition, Romp Comp is a competition exclusively for unsigned artists to showcase their talent and Romp Tour is a 5-day European tour for the winning artists of Romp Comp. Winner 2010- Musica

Rosanna Campbell, a third year Music & English Literature student, secured the £1,000 with her business Musica, which offers instrumental music lessons and workshops for health and emotional well-being to older adults in hospitals and retirement homes in South West England.

Winner 2009 - Go Go Guitar!

A commercial music third year student, Sam Dixon's business plan set him up to provide an innovative guitar tuition method to primary school children. The prize money enabled Sam to develop the website for promotion and sales and judges came up with several ideas to help the business which Sam hadn't previously considered.

Winner 2008 - PoeticEarth Ltd

Claire Baker was a second year ceramics undergraduate when she won £1,000 to develop her Prayer Pot business.  She followed that up by being Bath Spa University's entry in the regional business plan competition between six universities.

Merit Award 2011 - Bodhi Image

Joshua Taylor and Michaela Coote won a merit award of £500 for their remarkable start to running Bodhi Image - an ethical clothing retail business.

Merit Award 2010 - Alpha Kin

A merit award of £500 was also presented to Adam Shabbo, a final year Commercial Music student, for his business Alpha Kin Ltd, which specialises in the fusion of fashion and modern art by combining colourful and exuberant portraits of recognisable public figures with fashionable garments to create a designer art brand.

Anne Egan and Fiona Cassidy won the £500 Merit Award with their business plan for visual art activity hub called StudioXYZ

Merit Award 2008 - Kiro Clothing

Two final year students - Daniel Parker and Sarah Thomas - won the Merit Award of £500 for their business idea, which set up a fair-trade fashion brand, linked to music gigs and t-shirt throw-downs, which carries ethical and compassionate messages to society.

Best Sponsored Start-Up - The Ruffled Umbrella Company

The Ruffled Umbrella Company, formed by students in music and performing arts, won £750 and sponsorship onto Business Link's three-day course on 'Starting & Running a Business' from the Business Support Office through competing for a Launchpad residency at the university.

Best Sponsored Start-Up - Nice As Pie Dance Theatre

Laura Polson, Katy West and Romaine Etwaroo won £750 and sponsorship onto Business Link's three day course 'Starting & Running a Business' to help them establish the Nice As Pie Dance Company as a residency at the university.  Nice as Pie is a contemporary dance company specialising in audience participation and multi-sensory environments.
